Exciting New Format, Exciting Added Features
MediaEdge Communications is proud and excited to be the new owners of ApEx, Atlantic Canada’s premier foodservice and hospitality show. ApEx has been an important part of the Atlantic foodservice industry for almost 60 years! The event has a long and successful history and our primary goal is to build on those successes while adding new features that will take it to the next level. It is important for you to know that any changes we make will be based on a full understanding of what you, our valued attendees, exhibitors and sponsors want and expect from YOUR industry event. We have assembled an event advisory committee and will continue to talk with other industry professionals to identify what will make ApEx the best event it can possibly be.
It is our pleasure to announce a number of new and exciting additions to the 2012 event. These additions have been researched, validated and structured to not only add new appeal to the show, but to also educate and provide networking opportunities for our valued attendees. We have added and will continue to add a number of new elements, many of which have never been seen before at any foodservice industry event, and will work towards our overall objective of creating excitement and energy at ApEx.
Exciting additions we are proud to announce for ApEx 2012:
Product Purchasing - For the first time in the history of Ap Ex, we will provide the opportunity for attendees to purchase a wide range of products at the show. Our valued exhibitors will offer a diverse list of “Show Special Products” that will be actively promoted in advance of the event. Attendees are encouraged to review the show specials under each participating exhibitor’s listing. A“Show Special” booklet that will be given out at event registration to all attendees indicating the participating exhibitor’s name, booth number and products they have on sale at the event. These show special products can be seen and sampled at the exhibitor’s booth and ordered directly from them, for fulfillment by exhibiting distributors. Making your product purchases has never been easier and we are looking forward to your support and opinions of this new show feature.
ApEx / Atlantic Canada Foodservice Industry Awards Program & Reception – There are many talented foodservice industry professionals in Atlantic Canada and it’s about time that they are recognized. We have launched an Atlantic Canada awards program that includes categories such as: Foodservice Establishment of the Year, Chef of the Year, Supplier of the Yearand Lifetime Achievement. These awards will be presented on Sunday evening, April 15 at the Ap Ex Awards Networking Reception. Please be sure to submit your award nominations of deserving individuals. The Reception is open to all show attendees and exhibitors and we are looking forward to seeing you there to help celebrate the winners.
ApEx Charity Breakfast – Join your industry colleagues for the annual Ap Ex Charity Breakfast, taking place from 9:00–11:00am on Sunday, April 15. Volunteer chefs from Culinary Team Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Community College will strut their stuff and provide show visitors with an excellent array of breakfast items. A minimum $5.00 donation is requested to attend the breakfast with the proceeds going the Feed Nova Scotia charity. What a great way to kick off Ap Ex! Enjoy a great meal while providing financial support to a deserving charity. We look forward to seeing you and your staff at the charity breakfast.
The ApEx Lounge – After an action-packed day of walking the trade floor, attending education sessions and taking in events, you’ll definitely need a break. Come and relax in our well-appointed ApEx Lounge. Enjoy some tasty treats and beverages, network with your peers, listen to music, take in the entertainment, see a “fashion” show featuring the latest in industry products, watch ice carvings take form and more. As a thank-you for attending ApEx 2012, we wanted to create an area where our valued attendees can gather, relax, talk and kick back for a while.
Other Exciting Additions – Beyond the above, you will also see a number of new additions or enhancements at Ap Ex 2012. On the trade show floor, you will see our local/organic pavilion, a more diverse group of exhibitors, more food and beverage samples and an enhanced culinary stage with competitions and tutorials on new cooking techniques, and more. Our educational program will be comprised of the most pressing issues in the industry presented by true industry experts. We are also organizing a Drink and Dine Experience program on both Sunday and Monday evenings featuring several of Halifax’s top restaurants. A number of other additions are being organized and we encourage you to check back for more details as they develop.
We are extremely excited for Ap Ex 2012. We know that this is YOUR event and we are very much looking forward to seeing you in attendance. We are taking Ap Ex to a new level and we would very much appreciate your support by attending the event and encourage you to also bring your key staff to the event.
