Trade Show Backdrop Size Guide: Choosing a Step & Repeat

A step & repeat backdrop is the branded media wall behind press, red-carpet and event photos — the surface that puts your logo in every shot. Getting the size and the logo spacing right is what makes it work.

At 10 ft wide by 8 ft tall, the standard media wall is big enough to frame one or two people head-to-toe in a photo, which is what most press and event walls need. Need a different size? Ask when you request a quote.

How much wall you get

Ten feet of width comfortably fits a person or a small group posing in front; eight feet of height keeps logos above and around them rather than cropped out at the top of the frame. That's the whole point of a step & repeat — the branding has to survive the crop of a tight photo.

Spacing the repeating logos

The "step and repeat" name comes from the layout: your logo (or two alternating logos/artwork) repeated evenly across the whole surface. We space them so at least one full logo lands in any tight photo — no matter where a person stands. Send your logo and we lay out the repeat for you and confirm it on a free proof before printing.

When you need one

Step & repeat backdrops suit press events, galas, conferences, brand activations and any booth that wants a clean photo background. Indoors it can stand in for a tent as the visual anchor of the booth; see how it fits a full setup in our booth checklist.
